About Me

Loretta Gould is a Mi'kmaq Quilter/Painter loves bright beautiful Colors.  She was Born in 1976 and raised in Waycobah First Nation by her parents ((Annie Catherine(Katie) and Joseph Googoo)). Loretta married at 17 to Elliot gould back in 1994 and raised 5 children. Their children are Dakota, Shianne, Sipu, Phoenix, and Ivy Blue.
Loretta was a quilter for about 10 years after she seen a quilt in a mall. she loved it so much but couldn't afford it. So she decided to try a shot at making a quilt. and she began to make art quilts in 2010. This is how she was making a living is through her Art quilts. She still makes quilts but its mostly just paintings now.
Loretta's  quilts are hung in a Art Gallery in "Friend United". Owned by Rolf Bouman. Rolf has asked her to try painting but she kept refusing to do so.
Loretta's Sewing machine broke in 2013 and so she tried painting. She's been painting ever since. She Sold her painting to across seas to germany, Finland & Etc.
The only dream Loretta has with her art is that she shares her art around the world. Her Art is her way to get her spirutal feelings on canvas. Her Husband Elliot draws for her at times, and her also paints from time to time then Loretta would add her finishing touches. this family is a good sample of a family unity working together.
Loretta Self taught herself with both quilting and painting. She uses Cotton fabrics with her quilts and Acrylic medium Paints for her canvas.
